Shaker Pencil Post Beds are rare with only one example I am aware of, it is actually an Early American design.

I make all beds from solid wood planks at 3” thick or 4” thick depending on the bed. This shows the mortise and tenon used for the headboard and the lamb’s tongue detail on the posts. True pencil post beds have 8 sides and this Lamb’s tongue transition, an Early American detail.
